With the help of this utility you can simplify network troubleshooting and diagnostics by pinging specific remote servers and measuring response times.
PingTrace
PingTrace is a Windows tool that empowers IT professionals to identify and resolve various network issues. Users are able to trace exact packet routes, revealing important information about their internet connection. Like in Axence NetTools, it is possible to calculate the average latency by pinging various websites.
How to use
After starting the software you are instructed to enter the desired target IP address or domain name. The next step is to click the Ping button to begin sending test packets and determining how long it takes to receive a response. Ten attempts are made by default, which is enough to get a clear overview and detect potential problems.
Users can change the maximum number of echo requests and adjust the default timeout period. There is an option to specify the preferred buffer size as well.
Traceroute
Instruments for analyzing the traffic path to the target domain are provided. You are able to view the address of each node used to reach the predefined website alongside with minimum and maximum latency values. The amount of hops can be limited to prevent certain issues. Additionally, there is a checkbox to enable automatic domain name resolution.
