PCFriendly is a media program for Windows that allows you to play DVDs on your computer. It provides basic controls, including the play, pause, stop, rewind, fast forward and skip buttons, as well as a volume slider. Please note that the project is no longer supported by the development team, and its installation files are no longer available.

General notes

The application is capable of playing video content stored on discs similar to conventional players. Thus, you are able to access interactive menus, view movies per chapter, along with commentaries, gag reels. slideshows, screenplays, games, and more. It is also possible to load subtitles in different languages, and switch between audio tracks. If you want to convert clips for playback on mobile devices, you may use another tool called DVD Catalyst.

It is worth mentioning the in-built DVD decoder that is used to render video as well as stream its embedded audio. What is more, the utility comes with a library of customizable themes and skin colors that enables you to change the appearance of the main window. You may choose between a variety of color schemes, such as gold, wind, fire, ether, razor, shooting start, and others. There are also three themes based on movies, namely Gladiator, Superman, and Terminator.

Easy-to-use interface

The graphical user interface is quite simple, containing only two parts. The first one is reserved for the media player controls like play, pause, stop, while the next section is used to display the video. However, each uploaded theme offers changes to the UI. For instance, the Terminator provides a futuristic screen and buttons based on the technologies from the movie.
