Password Safe is a Windows software for storing online account credentials and other confidential information on the hard drive. It allows users to backup the database, safeguarding important data from accidental removal or hardware malfunction. Additionally, there is a flexible password generator for creating unique alphanumeric combinations.

Data management

The first step is to create a new database by specifying its name and location. After that you can quickly add multiple entries to the list. Each item might contain the following information:

Title;
Username;
Password;
URL;
Notes.

It is possible to attach an expiration date to any keyphrase. This functionality is particularly beneficial for reminding users to regularly change the most critical credentials. Furthermore, there is an option to protect the entire database through advanced AES 256 encryption.

Generation

Like in 1Password, instruments to automatically craft randomized symbol strings are included. You may tweak the desired combination length. There are checkboxes to include or exclude certain types of characters as well.
