Managing partitions

It is recommended to create a separate logical disk for operating system files and applications. This way you can increase computer security and performance. All existing physical and logical partitions are displayed in the main window. You are able to select the required disk for splitting it. There is an option to specify the final size of the new partition.

After configuring all necessary parameters users can execute the job queue to apply the changes. The system may restart several times during the operation.

Please note that Partition Magic is an obsolete software and no longer supported by the developer. It does not work in Windows Vista or newer. You can download Partition Logic to manage logical disks in modern operating systems.

The task menu offers users several tools for working with separate partitions. For example, it is possible to dedicate certain portions of the hard drive to store the images, video library, work documents and other types of content. Users can rename, resize and move the partitions.

Having sensitive data on a separate logical disk can help in case of technical issues or virus attacks. If one of the partitions becomes corrupted, you are able to reformat it without damaging other hard drive sections.
