Nikon Scan
Nikon Scan is a convenient program for Windows that enables you to control Nikon film and slide scanners from a computer. It also provides functionalities for previewing images and adjusting device settings prior to processing, giving you the possibility to access advanced features.
Save configuration presets
After launching the software, you are greeted with a user-friendly graphical interface. The workspace consists of a picture display with a controls panel on the left and various instruments in the Tool Palette on the right. There is also an option to switch between the image with adjustments and the original.
The utility allows you to define, save, and load sets of configurations by clicking on the Settings button. This valuable feature streamlines workflow. Thus, you can enhance the speed of reusing the same parameters on multiple scanned photographs.
Process film
In order to create a preview image, you need to press a corresponding button. The crop area defining the final results may be set by dragging the edges of the white dotted rectangle inside the interface. It is also possible to enlarge the photo and the window containing it.
One of the main advantages of this application is its ability to scan negative film. It automatically determines the number of frames and lets you select which ones you want to process. If you would like to convert photos from a digital camera to DNG format, you may try a tool called Adobe DNG Converter.
