NetPerSec is a lightweight Windows program that displays the current rate of network traffic being received and sent by your personal computer.

Purpose

Different types of connections provide different communication rates. However, network traffic often makes actual speeds slower than promised. This is where NetPerSec comes in. The compact tool enables you to determine the actual values via an intuitive visual layout.

Review

NetPerSec allows you to check your connection speed in real time. The application monitors all TCP and IP activity to and from the Internet or other networks. Then, it graphs the communication rate. If you want to see the information, you need to launch the utility. The main window consists of a configurable graphical interface that shows your current and average speeds.

Additionally, the program features a dynamic tray icon that displays send and receive activities in the form of a bar graph or a histogram. This is a convenient feature for when you want to monitor network problems at glance.

Unfortunately, this software does not allow you to view the network activity of individual applications and system processes. But you can use another utility for this purpose called NetLimiter.
