This specialized utility is intended for developing PlayStation 2 games. It can be installed to the console via a memory card or a PL2301-based USB bridge.
Naplink
Naplink is a Windows software for copying files to the internal memory of the PS2 console instead of burning optical game discs. Additionally, there are limited debugging services.
Installation instructions
You are able to boot this version of Naplink from a standard memory card. It does not require any additional files. Moreover, the program can be made compatible with the Independence exploit by renaming the naplink.elf package to boot.elf and replacing the old boot file with it.
How it works
After installing the application users can copy game data to and from the PlayStation 2 console over a USB cable. This functionality is very helpful during the development process. There are instruments for detecting and resolving various technical errors as well.
It is possible to dump the contents of the console RAM to the hard drive. You are able to search through the resulting file and change specific values with the help of WinHex or another similar editor. Please note that this feature is oriented toward experienced users.
