msstyleEditor is a Windows software for modifying existing OS visual themes without a PE resource tool or a hex editor such as WinHex. It is possible to adjust the color, size and position of each interface element. There is an option to preview and test the latest changes as well.

Style editor

After starting the application users can import compatible MSSTYLES packages by dragging and dropping them into the workspace. The list of included classes is located at the left side of the main window and contains the following items:

BarrierPage;
Button;
ControlPanel;
ExplorerMenu and many more.

You are able to tweak the properties of specific components. Instruments for adding new attributes are included as well, which is crucial when developing personalized visual styles.

Evaluation

Modified UI components can be previewed in a separate panel. Users can switch between different background colors to improve visibility. Additionally, there is a button to run automated tests. This is advantageous for ensuring that the theme works correctly before publishing it online. Finished projects may be saved to the hard drive, replacing original styles.
