mIRC is a Windows utility for instant messaging. You can connect to channels with various topics and find like-minded people. It is possible to exchange any files as well. Additionally, there are tools for creating automation scripts and creating chat bots.

Channels

After starting the program users are prompted to enter the nickname and select one of the available chat rooms. The list of all connected people is located at the right side of the main window.

You can exchange text messages and execute custom commands. It is possible to join several channels at the same time and switch between the tabs. Similar to PalTalk, an option to create a favorites list for quick access to preferred chat rooms is available.

Please note that it is necessary to purchase a license to use mIRC after the 30-day trial period.

Scripts

There is a flexible programming language. Users can create complex scenarios to automatically perform certain actions upon triggering the script. It is easy to configure pop-up windows and chat bots. External DLL libraries can be integrated into this software for enhancing basic functionality.

Security

An anti-malware module is included. It protects you from downloading potentially infected files. Additionally, there is an option to block users by nickname to stop receiving messages from spam accounts.
