MilkDrop is a music visualizer plugin for the Winamp multimedia player. It relies on DirectX and intelligent beat detection to present you with seamlessly blended animations. Thanks to a complex system of interpolation the program transitions between presets gradually over time, thus creating a constantly changing visual experience.

General notes

When the installation is complete, you need to launch Winamp and open any song of your choice. As you listen to your music, you can navigate to the visualization tab and press the ALT+SHIFT+K combination to enable the MilkDrop component.

It will take the actual sound waves and use the in-built beat detection technology to trigger a wide range of psychedelic special effects, creating a unique visual journey through the song. If you want to go full-screen, all you have to do is double-click the window. In case you encounter any problems, you may try installing various recent WHQL drivers for your graphics card.

Additional functions

Please note, the software can also be driven by a live audio feed, such as microphone capture. In order to configure the options, you need to press ALT+K in any tab except the visualization one. Here, you have the ability to set maximum frame rate, adjust blend time, as well as edit sprites and custom messages.
