Using this highly specialized software you can analyze the structure of various polycrystalline metals. It is possible to measure the diameter and amount of grains.
Microstructure Characterizer Software
Microstructure Characterizer Software is a Windows utility for calculating properties of microstructural crystalline objects. There is support for multiple standard material characterization methods such as ASTM grain size measurements and coating thickness.
Brief description
Similar to CaRIne Crystallography, this program provides instruments for calculating various properties of crystal structures in metals. Users can analyze cross sections to evaluate the size and area of individual grains. It is possible to automatically construct a distribution plot as well.
You are able to measure the hardness of any structure. There are several common tests for identifying the exact value.
Please note that Microstructure Characterizer Software is obsolete and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.
Inclusion rating
Foreign materials like oxides, sulfides and silicates can mechanically damage the crystal structure. The application allows users to determine the number, size and type of non metallic inclusions.
Nodularity assessment
Instruments for calculating the amount of graphite particles in the sample are available. You can detect and count individual modular structures. The higher number indicates better metal malleability.
