Microsoft Works is a collection of Windows programs for working with office documents and databases. It includes a powerful word processor, spreadsheet management system, calendar and custom dictionary. Please note that Microsoft Works is obsolete and not compatible with modern Windows versions.

What it does

This software package was developed as a more affordable alternative to other products like Microsoft Word and Access. It contains basic tools for creating and editing text documents. Moreover, you can build spreadsheets and manage SQL databases.

There is a calendar for planning personal and business activities. Users are able to create and edit a custom dictionary as well.

Interface overview

The included word processor lets you perform various formatting operations such as adjusting the font size, style and color of the text. Moreover, it is possible to insert BMP or JPG images as well as tables into the page.

Users can work with basic mathematical functions such as subtraction, addition, multiplication and division in the spreadsheet app. Instruments for automatically generating charts based on source data are provided.
