The modification was designed to help users fully-automate flying a rocket in KBP. Additionally, it is possible to revert to manual controls at any time.
MechJeb2
MechJeb2 is a program for Windows that allows you to enlist your own AI flight assistant as you play the classic space and flight simulator called Kerbal Space Program. Essentially, in the game you are in control of the titular Kerbals, cute, green humanoid aliens. However, despite the child-friendly aesthetic of the characters, the gameplay relies on a realistic orbital physics engine, which requires you to understand various scientific concepts.
Principle of operation
As the game revolves around trying to learn how designs and control affect maneuvers, such as landings and transfer orbits, having a virtual assistant is a great help. Similar to its predecessor, it gives you the ability to toggle autopilot while flying your rocket, which makes the difficulty a lot easier.
The utility also helps you to nail timings and altitude, increasing your probability of success. If you want to create custom visual and audio alarms for different situations, you may use another mod called Kerbal Alarm Clock.
Drawbacks
Since the tool automates a variety of tasks for you, getting too dependent on this modification takes away the thing that makes the game challenging and immersive. Most of its features provide automated or fully-manual options, without the possibility to partially automate decisions. In addition, the package may be incompatible with certain versions of the game.
