MDSolids is a Windows application for analyzing and solving problems across a wide range of material mechanics topics. Tools for calculating the elongation and stress in axially loaded structural members are included.

Material mechanics

Using this program you can evaluate the strain, deflection and stability of beams and flexural objects subjected to bending or shear forces. A large selection of examples, tutorials and other educational materials is available.

There is an option to determine the torque, angle of twist and stress distribution in custom torsional assemblies. Additionally, users are able to analyze the forces and deflections in trusses by applying a variety of standard calculation methods.

Other utilities for material engineers such as CDS Composite Design Analysis are available for download.

Advanced functions

It is possible to estimate the load carrying capacity of columns under axial load, including the effects of buckling and material imperfections. Moreover, you can predict deformations in pressure vessels subjected to outward forces. Instruments for calculating the cross sectional properties of various structural shapes are provided as well.
