Using this software you can transform mathematical equations, symbols and scientific notation from images into LaTeX, Markdown or other popular formats.
Mathpix Snipping Tool
Mathpix Snipping Tool is a Windows solution for converting scanned or handwritten mathematical expressions to editable form. It is possible to highlight a section of the screen and automatically recognize math symbols, which is very helpful for students, researchers and educators.
How it works
After starting the program and creating a personal account users can take new snapshots by clicking the corresponding button in the main window. Alternatively, there is a keyboard shortcut to speed up the process.
Imported pictures are processed using the integrated optical character recognition module. Mathematical expressions are automatically extracted and transformed into LaTeX, a common academic typesetting system. You are able to effortlessly embed resulting formulas into scientific papers and presentations.
Advanced conversion parameters
The application supported several output containers besides LaTeX. Users can choose the desired output format such as:
- Microsoft Word;
- Markdown;
- MathML;
- Overleaf.
There are instruments to extract text from pictures or PDFs. This lets you transform entire pages of handwritten notes into editable documents, simplifying lecture transcription and other similar operations.
