Marvelous Designer is a Windows software for creating and rendering 3D models of various clothing items. It supports integration with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max and other popular applications. There is a database of common cloth types and patterns.

Design process

This program contains pre-made templates for pants, jackets, hoodies, skirts, t-shirts, dresses and other standard clothing items. Various fabric types are included. Moreover, you can add buttons, zippers, custom stitching, belts and other accessories to the project. A large online store with thousands of pre rendered models is available.

Users can scan 2D sewing patterns and automatically convert them to 3D objects. Instruments for sewing individual fragments together and cutting off unwanted parts are provided. Manual mesh transformations are possible as well.

Simulation

There are tools for draping and fitting clothing items on the character model. The body type, height, head size and other physical attributes can be reconfigured in real time. It is possible to record video clips with cloth animations. Both the CPU and GPU rendering methods are supported. The playback speed is adjustable.
