MapSource is a Windows utility that contains instruments for interacting with various models of Garmin GPS navigators. You can upload new maps to the device. There is support for integration with Google Earth.

Map viewer

Users are instructed to connect the device to the computer via USB cable. All existing maps will be automatically displayed in the main window. It is possible to sort the contents by region and size. Additionally, users can download map updates. There is an option to quickly find any location by entering its address or coordinates.

Routes

This software lets you plan biking and hiking routes. It is necessary to mark start and finish points as well as specify the direction. The program will automatically calculate the overall distance and plan the optimal route. You are able to zoom in and out of the map for easier navigation. The resulting routes can be transferred to the internal device memory.

There are tools for browsing satellite and panoramic landscape images. This functionality requires installing the Google Earth application and integrating it with MapSource.
