Logitech Media Server is a Windows utility that contains instruments for playing songs from the internet, Audio CDs or the hard drive on Logitech Squeezebox audio players. Similar to TwonkyMedia Server, you can manage the music library by adding, editing or deleting audio tracks.

How it works

After installing the program users are prompted to specify the path to the local music collection and enter their Squeezebox credentials. Alternatively, it is possible to import the iTunes library.

The next step is to connect the compatible hardware audio player to the same local network. It will be detected automatically. Now you can stream music wirelessly.

Parameters

Users are able to configure additional settings via the web interface that is accessible through the system tray icon. There are options for rescanning the media collection and customizing the playlist directory. A checkbox for extracting iTunes album covers is provided.

Interface settings include the song title format and thumbnail size. Sliders for adjusting the browser refresh rate and the amount of items per page are present as well. Moreover, the timestamp format is customizable.
