LimeWire is a Windows program that allows users to download movies, audio tracks and other files from a large online archive. It is important to mention that LimeWire is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. All main functionality is broken.

File transfers

After starting the utility you can go to the Search tab for discovering new content. It is possible to look for songs, video clips, images, documents, software and other files. The results are sortable by name, type, size and quality.

Users are able to double-click on any item for adding it to the queue. The application will be automatically connected to other active network participants who host the required content and begin the downloading process. Like in uTorrent, the overall operation progress, current speed and estimated completion time are displayed in the main window.

Social features

There is an included chat room with multiple topical channels. You can communicate with other people interested in the same content. An option to host a personal channel is provided as well. Any file in the network can be rated on a scale from 1 to 5 stars. This functionality is helpful for quickly locating popular items.
