LabVIEW Runtime is a Windows program for executing custom LabVIEW programs on any desktop computer. There is support for a wide range of features, including multithreading, network communications and data acquisition.

Main functionality

After installing the utility users can run apps from LabVIEW on any PC. All required libraries and components are included in the package. No additional development environment is necessary.

You are able to interact with various hardware such as DAQ interfaces, GPIB controllers and serial devices. It is possible to access all data processing features available in the main LabVIEW engine.

Integration

The tool can be seamlessly used with other National Instruments products like NA DAQmx and NI VISA. Moreover, there is support for multiple third party programs and devices. This is helpful for streamlining the workflow and speeding up data analysis.

Users can install legacy versions of LabVIEW as well as choose between the 32 and 64 bit versions of the component to ensure backward compatibility with old projects. These operations are performed via the NI Package Manager.
