Khmer Unicode is a Windows utility for communicating in the Khmer language. It provides a virtual keyboard with all required symbols. Please note that Khmer Unicode is discontinued and lo longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.

Fonts

This program utilizes the Khmer typeface created by the Open Institute to help the economic development of Cambodia by offering computer software in the local language. The font contains all symbols required for writing in Khmer. There are multiple applications translated into the Cambodian language. They are used in teacher training centers and all other educational facilities to promote Khmer among young people.

How it works

After installing the software users can open a virtual keyboard to type in the Khmer language. Every button contains two different Cambodian characters. It is possible to switch between them by pressing the Shift and Alt keys.

You are able to modify the default keyboard layout in Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. This method provides full control over every key and function. Resulting layouts can be copied to another computer.
