Kerio WinRoute Firewall is a Windows utility for preventing malicious applications from infecting the computer with viruses and trojans. It is possible to develop complex traffic filtering rules for several popular protocols like HTTP and FTP.

Main capabilities

After starting the software you can configure multiple network parameters. There are instruments for limiting the maximum channel bandwidth. Moreover, options to manage DHCP server properties and DNS forwarding policies are available.

Similar to Comodo Firewall, users can compile a whitelist that contains trusted IP addresses. Connections from these servers will not be protected.

Please note that Kerio WinRoute Firewall is an obsolete utility and no longer supported by the developer. It cannot be installed in modern 64-bit operating systems.

Antivirus

This application offers you tools for detecting and erasing malware, viruses and trojans in real time. There are checkboxes for activating the protection of HTTP, FTP, SMTP and POP3 traffic. It is possible to link a third-party antivirus program instead of the provided McAfee module.

VPN tunneling

An option to reroute all traffic through a remote server is included. This functionality is useful for bypassing various network restrictions and protecting online anonymity.
