jCOLIBRI is a program for Windows that takes advantage of the capabilities provided by the newest versions of the Java language. The most important feature of this distribution is its representation of cases as Java beans. Basically, these elements may be any class that has a set a get-and-set method for each public attribute.

Modify projects

The software enables you to manage your project using a Java technology called Introspection. With this option enabled, you can design your cases as normal Java classes, selecting the design according to your preferences. This makes programming and debugging of the CBR apps much easier. Moreover, the configuration files became simpler because most of the metadata of the cases may be extracted using Introspection.

Interfaces and relational data

It is necessary to mention that Java beans offer automatically generated user interfaces that allow for the customization of their attributes and persistence into databases and XML files. Please note that every Java web app relies on Java beans as a base technology. This means that the development of interfaces is quite straightforward.

The persistence of cases is managed by the Hibernate package. This component is a JDO implementation, thus it can store information in a relational database. It also features support for using XML files as storage media. In order to develop fully functional Java apps, you may also need a special SDK kit called Java Development Kit.
