IObit Undelete is a Windows utility for restoring lost or damaged items stored on the local hard drive or external devices. There is an option to perform a deep scan, potentially retrieving overwritten data strings.

System analysis

You can select one or more logical partitions that will be scanned to identify all recoverable items. This functionality is helpful for speeding up the search process by excluding unwanted locations. Additionally, it is possible to specify target file types such as:

Pictures;
Music;
Documents;
Videos, etc.

Similar to FreeUndelete, certain types of media may be previewed before making a final decision. This way users are able to roughly evaluate the quality of the resulting package without commiting to a lengthy recovery process.

Restoration

After finishing the analysis users are able to view the list of detected packages that can be sorted by name, path, recoverability, size and modification date. There is a search bar at the top right corner for quickly finding necessary items. Finally, tools to recover individual files and directories to a predefined folder are included. It is strongly recommended to save resulting packages to a separate physical drive, avoiding accidental overwriting issues and ensuring uninterrupted workflow.
