HP SimplePass is a Windows utility that lets you configure the fingerprint sensor on HP computers. It is possible to register several fingers. You can log on to the operating system and quickly access password-protected websites or apps using a previously saved fingerprint.

How it works

After starting the software users are able to scan the finger for adding it to the list. The next step is to specify applications that will be accessed via the fingerprint. Like in AuthenTec TrueSuite, it is possible to save personal credentials for individual services and enter them automatically by swiping the finger. Users can manage the list of protected websites and associated passwords. Finally, there is a checkbox for toggling the quick Windows logon functionality.

An option to disable the fingerprint sensor illumination is available on compatible laptop models.

Sign-on service

Using this tool you can generate unique usernames and passwords for new accounts. A single fingerprint swipe is required for filling all standard text fields during the registration on a website.
