honestech TVR is a Windows software for recording video and audio output from a TV tuner. There is support for a wide variety of capture devices. Users can manually adjust the brightness, contrast, color saturation and hue to improve the picture quality. Flexible output quality parameters are available.

Recording

It is possible to capture the TV, cable, composite or S-Video signal. There are buttons for switching digital channels. Standard control elements for playing and pausing recorded clips as well as for starting the capture are provided as well. You can tune the audio volume or completely mute the sound.

Schedule

Like in TV Expert, users are able to plan future recordings by specifying the channel, start time and duration. There is a drop-down menu for selecting the action that will be performed upon finishing the capturing process. Available options include shutting down the app, entering sleep mode and turning off the computer.

Video settings

The utility allows you to choose the resulting resolution, frame rate and quality. Additionally, there is an option to change the encoding speed to accommodate low-end processors. The default target directory is customizable.
