HEIF is a program for Windows intended to work as an image extension standard. Basically, it allows for digital pictures to be stored in the appropriate format. It is necessary to mention that it does not come equipped with a graphical interface. The main goal of this distribution is to help you open and view files with HEIF and HEIC extension.

Format properties

The HEIF format is commonly used to store individual images or their sequences in a media container. In contrast to JPEG, High Efficiency Image File Format ensures high quality visual representation and reduces the space it occupies on the hard drive. For this reason, it is widely applied when encoding photographs and other high-definition items.

The extension features support for transparency and 16-bit color space. Furthermore, photos in this format may be easily converted to other formats. Besides images, this standard enables you to store other media streams, such as synchronized text and audio tracks.
