This application allows you to configure the parameters of various modem devices for connecting to the internet by installing a modified firmware version.
Haxorware
Haxorware is a Windows software for integrating a custom firmware file into modems. There is support for multiple devices manufactured by Netgear, Ambit, Webstar and other companies.
Compatibility and installation
The firmware is intended for the following modem models: Webstar DPC2100R2, RCA DCM425, Ambit 250/255/256, Netgear CG814WGv2, SB5101/E/i and SB5102/E/i. Moreover, any hardware based on the BCM3349 chipset can be upgraded. All parallel and generic SPI flash devices are compatible as well.
There are two versions of the firmware file – DIAG and LITE. The former offers users an additional console with diagnostic output. However, it might not perform optimally on modems with 8 Mb of RAM or less. The LITE edition does not support SPI flash-based modems.
You are instructed to transfer the correct file to the internal device memory for installing the new firmware. Modem restart may be necessary for applying all changes.
Configuration
After upgrading the hardware users can access the Settings menu via a web browser like Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. The main page contains information about the current device status, signal strength and frequency.
It is possible to enable factory mode and configure the Telnet server. Moreover, users can change credentials to prevent unauthorized access to the web interface.
