HashTab is a Windows program that generates and compares hash values of individual items. This enables you to check whether a package has been altered, corrupted or tampered with during network transfer.

How it works

After installing the software users can view the hash sum of a specific file in a new tab added to the Properties menu. It is possible to access multiple values calculated through different algorithms such as:

CRC32;
MD5;
SHA256 and many more.

Such versatility guarantees compatibility with the most common verification standards and practices related to various industries. Similar to HJSplit, you are able to check virtually any package regardless of its format.

Comparison

There is an option to directly paste a reference sum into the corresponding input field, checking if it matches the calculated hash value.
