With the help of this software you can link multiple HandReader authentication devices to a desktop for creating an integrated access control network.
HandNet
HandNet is a Windows application that allows users to manage hand palm readers manufactured by Schlage Biometrics. These devices are intended for preventing unauthorized access to secure rooms and buildings. It is possible to monitor up to 1000 HandReaders simultaneously. Please note that HandNet is obsolete and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.
Description
You can create an unlimited number of locations with up to 32 devices per site. Similar to AuthenTec TrueSuite, there is an option to scan the hand and add it to the database. It is possible to restrict access to individual rooms in certain hours of the day. Template management is handled automatically.
Network requirements
Typically, HandReader hardware is connected to the computer via an RS-422 port. It is recommended to use an AWG 22 wire with two twisted pairs like Belden No. 82723 or equivalent cable. Devices must be connected together in a daisy chain network. The maximum total wire length is 4000 feet.
Remote configuration
This utility allows users to program security hardware from the computer. Each HandReader on the network requires a unique address. The display language, date format and communication mode can be changed directly in the device menu.
