GoPro Silver Firmware is a Windows utility that lets you install an updated firmware version on the GoPro HERO4 camera. There are two new ISO settings and smartphone connectivity improvements.

How to setup

After unpacking the downloaded archive users are instructed to copy extracted files to a microSD memory card and insert it into the camera. The next step is to begin the update process by navigating to the corresponding menu item on the device. There is a progress bar that indicates when the installation is finished.

New capabilities

The update offers you two custom ISO parameters – 800 and 3200. Moreover, the default video setting is changed to 1080p60. Support for the Simplified Chinese language in the camera menu is added as well.

There is an enhanced thumbnail gallery with larger images. Users can shoot longer time lapses due to improved power efficiency.

You are able to edit GoPro video clips in GoPro Fusion Studio.

Bugfixes

With the help of this firmware update users can resolve multiple smartphone connectivity issues. Additionally, it is possible to repair corrupted internal files and restore broken functions. Please make sure that the camera battery is fully charged before applying the update.
