This free Google service lets you make audio calls, exchange text messages and get voicemail from anywhere in the world using an existing phone number.
Google Voice
Google Voice is a Windows VoIP platform that supports audio calls and text messaging. Users can integrate an existing phone number or generate a new one from Google. It is possible to access the web interface from any computer, smartphone or tablet.
Call management
After logging into the personal account you are prompted to configure various VoIP parameters like the phone number and spam filtering. There are tools for forwarding calls to any other connected device. Moreover, it is easy to configure custom forward rules based on the time of day, caller ID or contact group.
Please note that Google Voice is currently available only for US accounts.
Users can read automatically transcribed voicemail messages via email or web interface. Instruments for searching specific keywords in the archive are available. There is an option to block unwanted calls and texts from telemarketers, robocalls or scammers. Repeat offenders can be reported to Google to help improve the platform.
