gImageReader
gImageReader is a Windows software that leverages the Tesseract OCR engine to transform scanned pages into text documents. It supports over 100 languages, which is perfect for multilingual users.
Preprocessing
You can add new pictures by importing them from internal or external storage devices. Alternatively, there is an option to acquire content via the connected TWAIN compatible scanner. Both grayscale and color modes are provided. The output resolution and destination folder are adjustable as well.
After obtaining the images users are able to tweak the brightness and contrast parameters, potentially improving the quality and readability of the content. Moreover, it is possible to quickly invert the colors.
