Frostfall is a Windows utility that contains tools for integrating a modpack into the Skyrim computer game. It contains three main components: Hypothermia, Cold Water Survival, and Camping. Please note that the latest versions of SKSE and SkyUI are necessary for the correct functioning of Frostfall.

New gameplay mechanics

After installing the mod users are required to manage their exposure to the cold. It is possible to keep warm by wearing thick clothing and staying near heat sources such as fires or torches. Becoming too cold can lead to suffering from hypothermia and eventually dying.

You are able to manually set the base temperature and custom monthly modifiers for each region. Cold water is another danger in Frostfall. Players cannot swim in it without risking hypothermia.

Camping

The mod lets users create a camp anywhere in Skyrim. There is various gear such as tents, bedrolls and cooking pots. This is helpful for staying warm and dry while exploring the open world.

Player properties like exposure, wetness, fatigue, hunger and thirst are available. These features add an extra layer of realism to the game and make it more challenging.
