Eyeball Chat is an easy-to-use program for Windows that offers interactive communication experience making use of the same technology as Skype. Please note, the developers have ceased support for this project, so account creation is no longer available.

Interface layout

The graphical user interface is organized like other instant messengers, such as Yahoo or MSN, but it is designed to look like a smartphone. You can manage your contacts by creating new groups in the contacts lists and use the search function to find your friends quicker. Your status may be changed to busy, away, on the phone and so on, from a drop menu or by accessing the panel above the contacts list.

Adding contacts

You are able to add contacts who also use this application or import them from AIM, Google Talk and others. The Add window provides various fields where you can input your friend’s name, mobile, home or work number as well as his email address.

If you want to import a contact from a different service, you need to specify it in advance, by selecting it from a drop menu. Please note, in order to perform this action successfully, you have to be logged into that messenger yourself.

Chat and call

The program enables you to talk using a standard chat window, which can snap to the main window. When it comes to video calls, you need to select any contact and click a button in the upper left area of the interface. Video conferences are supported as well. You have the ability to access different chat rooms, which are categorized by language, location and other criteria, such as sports, romance and more.
