With the assistance of this support tool, you can scan your PCB design against several rules and review errors. You may opt for a range of analyses types.
EMIStream
EMIStream is a Windows program that allows users to perform EMI Design Rule Check and Plane Resonance Analysis tasks. It is designed to mitigate undesirable EMI originating from PCBs. By addressing potential concerns during the initial design stage, the solution enhances efficiency and reduces evaluation time.
EMI Rule Check and Resonance Analysis
The utility was created by engineers at NEC who faced EMI issues in their products. It is an outcome of extensive research and development, aimed at addressing real world problems. The process involved the examination of over 150 rules, ultimately distilled into 15 critical rules.
EMI susceptibility is heightened when resonance happens between power and ground planes. The corresponding analysis feature considers factors such as plane shapes, capacitors, and the distance between power and ground planes. It employs the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit method.
ESD Rule Check and PI Analysis
Electrostatic discharge may happen when an electrically charged object makes contact with an electronic device. This occurrence can lead to malfunctions and failures in equipment. The ESD Rule Check Option identifies areas on a PCB with low ESD tolerance levels and provides recommendations. If you want to design custom circuit board schematics, you may try tools like PCB Wizard or PCB Artist.
Power voltage drops associated with advanced semiconductor technologies are increasing. Now, there is focus on countermeasures to mitigate undesirable electromagnetic waves resulting from IC malfunctions. The Power Integrity Analysis Option enables the verification of capacitor location, quantity, and capacitance value to suppress this issue.
