DVDx is a Windows utility for ripping video from the optical media. It is possible to enhance the movie quality with the included editor.

How it works

You can open any DVD or Blu-ray video disc in the provided player. Moreover, there is support for a wide variety of containers such as AVI, MP4, MKV, MPEG, TS, MP3 and many other formats. There are options for switching audio tracks and subtitles included in the movie. DVD menu navigation controls are provided as well. The tool can be used as a media playback solution.

Ripping the disc contents is easy. Users are able to select DVD chapters to be copied. Additionally, the ISO image files can be transformed.

Copying a Blu-ray movie is possible with this app. However, there are specialized tools for this purpose such as Blu Ray Ripper with more flexible parameters.

Additional capabilities

There are instruments for transcoding any video files into different formats such as MKV, MOV and MP4. You are able to choose one of the predetermined quality profiles or manually configure the conversion settings. Picture size and aspect ratio can be adjusted. Audio options include sampling rate and quality. It is possible to encode a small movie fragment to preview the parameters.

After selecting the audio and video streams for converting users can choose the output folder for the resulting file. Clicking the Transcode button will begin the process.

Please note that DVDx is a paid software. The free trial version only contains a video converter tool and does not allow you to rip the discs.
