DiskDigger is a Windows software for analyzing logical partitions on the computer to find lost files. Users can scan HDDs, USB Flash drives and external storage devices. Similar to Puran File Recovery, there is support for all common file systems such as FAT16, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS.

Scan process

After starting the application you are prompted to select the target storage device from the list. There is a button for refreshing the window contents to include recently connected hardware. Information about the overall capacity for every drive is provided.

The next step is to choose the scan method. There is a faster option called Dig Deep that is intended for recovering recently deleted items. Alternatively, the Dig Deeper mode lets users scan the entire surface of the hard drive and locate old erased files on reformatted devices. This operation may take up more time and yield better results.

Advanced capabilities

You can analyze ISO disk images to find missing data. Tools for overriding a predefined amount of bytes in the beginning of the storage plate are included.

There are checkboxes for detecting disk size manually and saving debugging information to a separate text file. These options are helpful for troubleshooting potential issues.
