DesktopX is a program for Windows that enables you to create your own desktop and customize your computer, in order to improve productivity and visual look. It comes with a library of preset objects and widgets.

Goal

There are different methods for personalizing the desktop appearance, like themes, wallpapers, screensavers or icon packages. This software solution is designed to do more than that. It can enhance both your desktop looks and functionality thanks to various widgets, objects and gadgets.

Manage desktop objects

The DesktopX is the main app that runs in the system tray. However, you have the ability to access its features using the Helper widget, which allows you to navigate to the main sections, load other objects and create new desktops.

The default collection of objects includes 80’s arcade games, a fish that swims all over your screen, calendars, clocks, picture frames, search bars, weather monitoring tools and the Silica Word of the Day gadget.

Build custom widgets

What is more, you are able to design your own widgets with the Desktop Builder utility. It is also possible to build complete desktop environments. This means you can configure all the items, including the taskbar and the Start button. If you want to simply rearrange your desktop icons, you may use a program called Desktop Icon Toy.
