DesignSpark PCB is a Windows software for creating and testing custom PCB designs. There is a large library of standard resistors, capacitors, diodes, inverters, voltage controllers and other electrical components. Additionally, users can preview the 3D model of the board.

Design process

You are able to create a new project from scratch or use one of the provided PCB examples. It is possible to generate double sided layouts with up to 14 internal layers. Moreover, preferred measurement units can be selected in the drop-down menu.

Similar to PCB Artist, the board width and height are customizable. Users can import the outline shape from another design file. There is a checkbox for creating circle PCBs as well.

Drawing tools for adding text inscriptions, lines and various geometrical shapes to the layout are provided. You are able to choose any electrical element from the included database and place it on the board. Physical properties of every component can be fine-tuned to better fit the project.

Reports

Users are able to quickly generate the bill of materials, calculate maximum component heights and view all unconnected pins. This information is helpful for resolving potential design errors and planning the manufacturing process.
