DAZ Studio is a Windows utility for working with 3D objects. There is support for Iray and 3Delight rendering engines. Additionally, you can install third-party plugins to expand the basic functionality.

Interface

The main window contains a large editing section in the middle and various controls for creating and modifying objects. It is possible to switch between the three-dimensional perspective and flat views from the sides, top or bottom. Users are able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel.

Included instruments

You can insert any geometrical shape like a cube, cylinder or sphere to begin working on the model. Tools for resizing, flipping, rotating and distorting the objects are provided. You are able to generate new points of light for calculating the visual appearance of all shadows.

Advanced rendering parameters are available. Users can adjust the white point, gamma, saturation and other tone mapping attributes.

Import and export

This tool supports a wide variety of 3D model file formats. Objects made in Autodesk FBX, Wavefront and Poser can be opened and edited. Moreover, importing files from Blender is possible with the help of an additional plugin.

After finishing the project you are able to export the results in the BVH, CR2, U3D, OBJ and several other formats.
