Comic Book Creator is a Windows program designed to help you create your own comic books. It enables you to utilize your own screenshots, art assets and digital photos. If you just need a tool for reading graphic novels and comics, you may use CDisplay.

Interface

The software has three main interfaces. The middle one shows the layout editor. The left side gives you access to object browsers, and on the right you can find various attributes and settings.

Comic design

In order to create a comic, you can select from one of over 500 different layout and design templates. Then, you need to add the desired images and insert text bubbles to bring life to your story. The application supports JPEG, BMP and GIF formats. After you have finished working on your project, you have the option to print the result or export as a PDF or HTML document for online distribution.

Pros and cons

This utility has some strengths, the main one being the a wide range of built-in balloons and fonts you can choose from. Another helpful feature is the ability to reposition the word balloon stems to maximize their use in the comic panel.

It is also easy to resize the imported art assets, however, you cannot vectorize imports. This means, unless you have the image close to the size you want, pixelation might be a concern. In addition, you are able to include animations and sounds to your digital comic, but they are inaccessible in the trial version of this tool.
