Claroline is an open source eLearning program for Windows that allows users to build effective online courses and to organize educational and collaborative activities on the Internet. The software distribution has been translated into thirty-five languages and is maintained by the developers community.

The application provides an intuitive learning environment based on the PHP programming language and the MySQL relational database. Thus, you are able to create and administer educational courses through the Web.

It is possible to access group management, forums, content repositories, calendar items, SCORM, and more. You can manage documents and links, compose online exercises and develop extensive learning paths.

The utility allows you to produce assignments, structure an agenda with tasks and deadlines, as well as send announcements via email. What is more, you are able to propose homework, view statistics of attendance and completion exercises.
