CIUX Mobile IMEI Unlocker is a Windows application that enables users to deactivate the security mechanisms that can keep their phones tied to a single mobile carrier.

Goal

Mobile service providers that subsidize the prices of customers smartphones try to make the most of their investments by making it hard to use those devices on the network of other companies. In most cases, these limitations can be disabled, if users are able to find the proper code or another security token.

A variety of third-party services offer to do this for a fee, but many consumers find that the prices charged are a bit too much. Interface

The application has a fairly simple and functional interface. It displays a screen which contains selection fields upon start-up. Additionally, it presents a list of mobile phone services located on the left. The extensive database consists of all the services that the program is meant to work with and includes various international carriers.

Functionality

Once you select a mobile service provider, you need to enter the IMEI of your smartphone in another text field. Unfortunately, the utility does not automatically know the identifying number. You have to search for it manually. Additionally, if you have an iPhone device, it is possible to change this number with ZiPhone.

After filling in an email address for further communication, a proposed fee will be calculated. Users that find the charge acceptable can pay through PayPal or a variety of credit and debit cards and receive unlock codes for their devices within a few working days.
