CaRIne Crystallography is a Windows program for constructing 3D representations of any crystals. Users can create large and complex models that contain several thousands of unit cells, surfaces and interfaces.

Crystal creation

This utility allows you to start from scratch or open one of the example projects for learning main design principles. It is possible to generate new cells as well as modify and move the existing ones. There are tools for viewing the list of bonds and polyhedrons.

Every atom has advanced chemical, site and display properties. Users can customize the name, symbol, label, oxidation and atomic weight values. Moreover, there is an option to specify physical coordinates and occupancy parameters. The Display settings menu allows users to adjust the radius and color of the atom.

You are able to export the project to a network database for sharing it with other people.

Analysis instruments

Like in PowderCell, there are various ways to monitor simulated crystals. Users can create stereographic projections, X-ray diffraction patterns, reciprocal 3D lattices and plane-based calculation lists. These tools are used for performing statistical and mathematical analytical operations.
