CardRecovery is a program for Windows that allows users to recover damaged or accidentally erased data. Similar to Smart Data Recovery, the utility features support for different types of removable media, including flash drives and memory cards.

After launching the application, you need to set the data search rules. What is more, you can specify the digital camera in which the media was slotted. It is possible to insert SDHC, miniSD, microSD, Compact Flash, Memory Stick and other kinds of memory cards, along with USB devices.

The next step is to check the boxes for the types of files you want to find. You have the ability to restore photos, video and audio recordings. Then you can connect the drive to your personal computer and select it from the drop-down list. You also have the option to specify the path to the folder where the discovered data will be saved.

Recovery

Once the search is completed, a list of detected items will be displayed on the screen. It is worth mentioning that the tool is capable of recovering data that has been accidentally erased or damaged as a result of a write error or virus attack. Please note that the demo version of the program has limited features. Thus, in order to save the recovered data, you need to purchase an official license.
