ByteDos is a lightweight Denial of Service program for Windows. It comes as a self contained, standalone executable that eliminates the need for installation on the computer. The main purpose of this tool is to perform network analysis and security testing.

Perform DoS testing

The graphical interface of the utility is minimalistic. This makes it easy to access the main functions even if you have limited technical experience. After launch, you can quickly configure and initiate DoS attacks. Please note that the project is no longer supported nor distributed online.

The software features integrated IP resolution capabilities. Thus, it is possible to convert domain names into Internet addresses. There is support for two distinct attack vectors, namely SYN and ICMP flood. You have the option to select the preferred method when starting the assault.

Drawbacks

Since the application is primarily focused on DoS testing, it lacks the broader feature set of more advanced network security tools. There is no vulnerability scanning, traffic analysis, or reporting functionalities.

While the program offers basic DoS attack options, it does not provide customization settings. If you want to perform advanced security testing tasks, you may explore other solutions. For example, you can try Linux based operating systems like Parrot Security and Kali Linux.
