BMW Scanner is a vehicle diagnostic program for Windows computers. You can identify potential electronic faults in your car by scanning individual modules. It also allows you to read and clean the errors from them. Additionally, the application displays service and inspection intervals for some automobile parts.

Setup

To get started, you need to connect the diagnostic cable to the car interface port and turn the ignition key into position 1. After launching the software, you will be greeted with a window filled with detailed automobile information. From there you can access various actions like scanning the vehicle components for errors and handling DTC codes.

Scanning and modification

The main interface allows you to select car modules and double-click them to view brief error descriptions. To remove associated problems, you can simply press the Clear Errors button.

Similar to VAG Commander, you have the option of scanning for individual components using the Units menu located on top of the toolbar. This offers a number of possibilities like restarting and reprogramming the components, as well as other module-specific actions such as adjusting the odometer.
