BI Publisher is a program for Windows with which you can enhance the layout, design, and presentation of reports, confirmation letters, folios and stationery. It seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Word, allowing you to craft and customize templates.

Template design

The tool can serve as both a standalone reporting solution or be incorporated with the Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition. The main process begins once you are logged in. After this step, you can generate reports from diverse data sources, including Oracle Database, web services, RSS feeds, and files.

In order to create layout templates, you can use the corresponding editor. This component offers an intuitive visual workspace for designing reports in various formats. There is support for PDF, RTF, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HTML file extensions.

RTF and XLS support

The Template Builder works as an addon for Microsoft Word that streamlines the development of RTF templates. With its help, you can insert data fields, tables, forms and charts. It is also possible to extract boilerplate text into an XLIFF file and test translations.

The software also simplifies the conversion of RTF documents into XSL-FO form. This allows you to utilize standard word processor features when creating report layouts. During the design phase, you add data fields and additional markup into the template via tags for XSL expressions.
