Babylon is a Windows utility for text translation. There is support for English, German, Russian, French, Italian and many other languages. Additionally, you can listen to correct term pronunciations by clicking the corresponding button.

Translation process

After starting the program users are prompted to paste text from the clipboard to the main window and specify the output language. Translation results can be read out loud by the computer-generated voice. It is possible to translate DOC, XLS, PPT and PDF files. The maximum supported document size is 5 Mb.

Dictionaries

You can look up detailed definitions for any term. Available dictionaries include Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica, Oxford American Thesaurus and many other options. It is important to mention that additional content has to be purchased through the official website. Some dictionaries may be evaluated for a limited time before buying them.

There is an option to press the Ctrl key and right-click on any word in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Adobe Reader for viewing the corresponding dictionary entry. Term definitions contain multiple usage examples and synonyms.
